奸相盧杞專權，設計將忠臣梅伯高滿門抄斬，伯高之子良玉僥倖逃過一死，改名至陳日升府中充當園丁，卻在日升府中驚見自己父母的靈位，當下痛哭失聲，也因此曝露身份。日升因著與梅伯高間的同儕之義而將女兒杏元許配給良玉。盧杞為剷除異己而慫恿皇帝，讓日升之女陳杏元遠赴北地去和番。杏元無法抗拒聖旨，便於前往北地途中跳崖自盡，卻被新科狀元鄒伯符所救，鄒伯符因此重審當年梅家叛國一案，終使真象水落石出，使得盧杞一干奸人俯首認罪，讓這對有情人得以團圓。而兩人的愛情故事也感動了花神「綠君」，當日陳家梅園裡的梅花二度盛放，蔚為傳奇。
Traitor Lu Qi arranged for the accusation of treason to be leveled against loyal minister Mei Bogao. Thus accused, Mei Bogao and his whole family were to be put to death. However, Mei Bogao’s son Liang Yu was able to flee to safety. He changed his name and joined the household of Chen Risheng as a gardener.    

However, one day Mei Liangyu saw his father’s memorial tablet and broke down uncontrollably, thus revealing his true identity. As Chen Risheng was a close friend of Mei Bogao, he gave his daughter, Chen Xingyuan, in marriage to Mei Liangyu.    

Back at court, however, Lu Qi had convinced the Emperor to continue to eradicate those he saw as dissidents and, as part of a peace treaty, to marry Chen Xingyuan to the ruler of a neighboring state. Chen Xingyuan was unable to refuse the order, but on the journey north she attempted suicide by jumping off a cliff. At the last moment, she was saved by the imperial scholar Zou Bofu.    

Zou Bofu later held a retrial for the Mei family’s crime of treason. During the trial, the truth came out and the traitor Lu Qi was forced to publicly admit his guilt, thus allowing Chen Xingyuan and Mei Liangyu to be reunited. The love story so moved the god of flowers, Lu Jun, that on that same day the plum trees in the Chen family home blossomed for a second time, becoming the stuff of legend.  ​

◎ 製作團隊 Production Team
「秀琴歌劇團」1986年由張秀琴團長成立，自2001年入選為國家扶植團隊至今，整齊的素質、動人的唱腔、認真的態度是劇團的堅持，更是劇團的特色。主角演員張秀琴、莊金梅及米雪「色」、「藝」兼俱且實力堅強是為劇團的黃金三角。團長張秀琴更於2004年榮獲「中興文藝戲劇獎」及2018年榮獲「第25屆全球中華文化藝術薪傳獎-地方戲劇獎」。紮實的唱唸做打，求新求變的戲文，驚人的表演爆發力，秀琴歌劇團在舞台上不斷擦出的精采火花，深深抓住每個觀眾的目光。近年演出朝向精緻化發展，更堅持每年至少製作一齣公演新戲，力求彰顯劇團的特色，2012年更以獲選國藝會第三屆表演藝術追求卓越專案之作品《歌仔新調-安平追想曲》登上國家戲劇院演出。多次入選高雄春天藝術節節目及「傳藝金曲奬」奬項。

ShiuKim Taiwanese Opera Troupe  

ShiuKim Taiwanese Opera Troupe was established in Taizhong in 1986. Based in central Taiwan, the troupe gradually expanded their activities to the south. They put on about 160 outdoor performances a year on average, including historical drama, knight errand operas, and “hu-pie-zi”comedy, all very popular. In 2000, they started to compose new plays to participate in local theatrical events. Members of the troupe are capable and share a reciprocal solidarity. The troupe’s director, Zhang Xiu-qin, who was awarded the Zhongxing Arts Award, the sweet-sounding xiao-dan (young and lively female role) Zhuang Jin-mei and the talented director-playwright-actor, Mi Xue (i.e. Chen Min-ling), constitute the famed “golden triangle.”In recent years, they invited famous producer and playwright, Wang You-hui, to be their arts director. Wang’s ample experiences in theatrical production helped ShiuKim in expanding their horizon. Their production of Remembering An-Ping was nominated for The Ten Best Performance Arts of Taishin Arts Award.  ​
