一座曾在上古時代被遺忘忽略的小島——臺灣，在大航海時代後逐漸被世界看見，多元族群的融合造就她人文、藝術、科技、醫療的奇蹟。《島嶼傳說》喚起古老的名字——美麗之島「福爾摩沙」，用節奏及旋律講述在這島嶼發生神秘傳說與精彩故事，民族融合與時代交替流轉的文化熔爐，與你相遇一同體驗深層的臺灣之美。曲目中帶入〈鬼湖戀〉THE GHOST LAKE 魯凱族巴冷公主、〈炸寒單〉Bombarding Handan God 炸寒單爺、〈迎火龍〉Could Fire Dragon Bombarding Handan God 義民祭雲火龍、〈烽芒之舞〉Glory Dance 鹽水蜂炮、〈孤棚祭〉Ku Peng Festival 搶孤、〈祈天之燈 Druming up Hope 天燈祈福、〈赤崁隨想〉Caprice of Chihkan 做十六歲、〈憶想之門〉The Door of Memories 羅漢門宋江陣，創作出不同以往的臺灣節慶神秘篇章。臺灣文化經歷千百年來的發展變化，蘊藏動人深刻、發人深省的神話故事，呈現出濃厚的文化精髓與人文特色。臺灣將持續是個「美麗的地方」，一個永遠的福爾摩沙。   

In ancient times, Taiwan was an unknown. During the Age of Exploration, the face of the island was slowly revealed to the world. The fusion of its many ethnic groups driving miracles in the realm of the humanities, the arts, science, and medicine.​

The Legend of Island evokes Taiwan’s former appellation—Formosa, or “beautiful island”. Using rhythm and melody, this performance narrates the moving stories and mysterious legends that Taiwan calls its own. Taiwan’s cultural melting pot of ethnic fusion and changing eras is vigorously stirred to offer a kaleidoscope of encounters with the island’s beauty.​

Song performances take their cues from many of Taiwan’s traditional festivals. “The Ghost Lake” features the legendary Princess Balenge of the Rukai people; “Bombarding Handan God” calls on Master Handan to face a barrage of fireworks; “Could Fire Dragon Bombarding Handan God” celebrates the Hakka tradition at Yimin Temple; “Glory Dance” captures the buzz around the Yanshui Beehive Fireworks Festival; “Ku Peng Festival” scales the heights with the pole-climbing tradition; “Druming up Hope”  looks to the heavens in Taiwan’s Lantern Festival; “Caprice of Chihkan” celebrates a coming-of-age ceremony; and “The Door of Memories” revisits Neimen’s Songjiang battle array.​

Over the centuries, Taiwan’s culture has continued to develop and change. Today, it is home to a wide repository of poignant myths and legends, while offering unique contributions to humanity and a rich cultural essence from which to draw. In the future, as today, Taiwan will continue to be a “land of beauty”—a Formosa eternal.

◎ 製作團隊 Production Team

「十鼓擊樂團」成立於2000年春天，「傳創台灣本土文化，發揚鼓樂藝術薪傳」是樂團最大發展目標。而「十」字代表著鼓棒交疊，匯集十方的能量，共同凝聚團結的力量。獲海內外金曲獎、葛萊美獎、美國獨立獎三項大獎提名。秉持：傳創本土擊樂、普及全民鼓術、落實人本教育、開啟多元智慧、推動特教啟蒙，廣納世界文化、為推廣鼓樂藝術之宗旨目標。大部份的創作作品，是以台灣的歷史、風景、人文為創作題材，讓台灣這個島嶼，能夠因鼓術文化而永恆。

Ten Drum Art Percussion Group was founded in March of 2000. Under the leadership of Hsieh Shi, the Group has performed in lots of activities. For instance, 2000 Olympics Torch Relay Tour Performance in Sydney Australia, 2001 Ten Thousand Drums Facing the Clock Century Concert performed by 250 drummers in The Oldest Golden City, Art Festival Tour Performance of 2002 FIFA World Cup South Korea; it was invited by Tourism Bureau to promote Taiwan tourism industry in 2003 for 15 days, e.g. the Group undertook tour performance in Southeast Asia (Malaysia, Penang, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Hong Kong); it performed in Thailand International Drum Festival in March of 2004; it performed in South Korea Inchon International Drum Festival in May; on behalf of domestic teams, it performed in 2002 -2003 Tainan Double Seventh International Art Festival; it undertook successively Drum Art Carnival—National Drum Art Festival from 1999 to 2003; it sponsored 2004 Taiwan International Drum Art Festival, made the activity be an international drum percussion art exchange platform and then continued to host the activity successfully from February 8 to February 14, 2005. The Group holds regular creativity concerts at the end of each year. It was awarded excellent group music award by Tainan City for successively 3 years from 2002 to 2004. It conducted tour performance in Las Vegas, New York, Rhode Island in US, Vancouver, Canada and other places in 2005. At the same Year, it was honored as national support art group (music group category) by Culture Construction Commission of Executive Yuan. With painstaking cultivation, the Group has performed over 500 shows since its establishment throughout the whole province, even the world. Currently, the group is engaged in art performance, but also focuses on drum art cultivation. The Group hopes the traditional local percussion art can be carried on for future generations and grow up to be a kind of brand new Taiwan drum music.

＊演出全長110分鐘，演出前30分鐘開放入城，中場無休息。

＊本演出活動建議觀賞年紀 5 歲以上，兒童與成人皆同價，採一人一票入場。

＊本演出將有高分貝音量之鼓樂，敬請留意並斟酌入場。

＊本演出座位分配分為三區:

      1.搖滾自由區/800元，草地自由區採席地而坐觀賞形式，依現場帆布座位格入座。

      2.平面座位區/1000元，對號入座。

      3.看台座位區/1500元、2000元、3600元、6000元，對號入座。

＊演出現場禁止攜帶飲食、禁止吸煙飲酒、垃圾不落地、禁止攜帶寵物入內。

＊本演出為戶外演出，若因天氣狀況需做節目更動將另行於官網通知。表演製作團隊保留活動變更權利。

＊本活動若有未盡事宜，主辦單位保有隨時修正、暫停或終止之權利, 活動網頁如有爭議，主辦單位擁有最終解釋權，隨時修訂並公告恕不另行通知。

＊The total length of the performance is 110 minutes. Doors to the venue will open 30 minutes before showtime. No intermission.

＊This performance is recommended for ages 5 and up. Each ticket is valid for one person/one admission.

＊ Please be aware that this performance will feature drumming at high volumes.

＊Seating for this performance is divided into three areas:

1.Lawn seating/NT$800. Free seating area. Please follow on-site instructions.

2. Chair seating/NT$1000. Assigned seating area.

3. Balcony seating/NT$1500, NT$2000, NT$3600, NT$6000. Assigned seating area.

＊No food, drink, alcohol, smoking, or pets will be allowed in the venue. Also please refrain from littering.

＊This is an outdoor performance. In the case of inclement weather, alternates dates will be listed on the official website. The performance production team reserves the right to make changes to the program.
